Course Overview

What is the GHRC Summer Workshop?

The summer workshop places a strong emphasis on building local global health research capacity, promoting local innovation, and prioritizing research training for community professionals. How It Works – The Online Learning Experience

The timing and structure of GHRC is divided into two types of sessions that are tailored to suit the online experience.

Asynchronous activity - is an instructor-narrated video lectures that you are able to pause and replay. Whenever applicable, a selection of readings complementary will be made available to the week’s topic. This activity can be done on Canvas platform.

Synchronous activity - is LIVE group session that cover 2 hours each day during the 4 week period. The workshop also spans weekends (only Saturdays). Synchronous sessions are not scheduled during the weekend, but independent work and online discussions are likely to carry through the weekend.

When does the workshop start? And how long is it?

Workshop dates from July 13th - August 8th. We currently offer 4 weeks training.

What if I can't begin on the first day of the workshop or have work interruptions during the 4 week long course?

Major advantage of online learning is the flexibility it offers participants. Minor delays in participation will not be a problem. Join the class activities as soon as you can.

How much time do I need to plan for study each week?

You should plan for 3-4 hours for course activities which may include watching video lectures, readings complementary to that topic, group discussions, working on your Capstone projects, etc.

Why should I join?

- Holistic Approach to Research
- Lifetime Access to our Training Resources
- 1 on 1 Mentorship Program
