
Dr. Kaur was born and brought up in the northern most part of India in the valley of Kashmir. Graduated with a degree in Medicine from University of Kashmir (India), and subsequently pursued a degree in Health Care Administration from the University of Michigan (Rackham Program).
After completing Obstetrics and Gynecology residency from Wayne State University/DMC in 2008, she joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology as Assistant Professor. Dr. Kaur has served as a Clerkship Director for Year III medical students at Wayne State University School of Medicine, between 2010 and 2015, and then Residency Program Director from April 2015 to April 2025.
She has been active in teaching and mentoring students at all levels and currently is the Course directors for Service-Learning segment 1C for Wayne State University School of Medicine.
Over the years she has mentored Year 2, 3 and 4 students, in addition to mentoring the residents. She has received various awards with the two more recent ones being:
Wayne State University SOM teaching award for the years 2017/18, 2020/2021, 2021/2022, 2023/2024
She has also received the Medical Mentors award from Detroit Medical Center in 2017 for mentoring high school students interested in a career in Medicine.
Dr. Kaur has served as a representative for Wayne State University SOM, on the Council of Faculty and Academic Societies (CFAS) for AAMC from 2013 to present.
She has also served in the Academic senate at Wayne State University SOM since 2022 and participated in the Budget committee, and DEI committee.
