Pradeep Sopory (Ph.D., University of Wisconsin-Madison) conducts research on health and risk communication. He investigates effects of messages, especially those containing metaphor, analogy, and other figurative language, designed to influence attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors. He also studies methodological issues related to evidence synthesis. He has been PI or Co-PI of research supported by, among others, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine; National Institutes of Health; National Science Foundation; and World Health Organization. He is an editorial board member of Health Communication. He is an author or co-author of a book and over twenty-five research publications.
