Katherine Akers, PhD, MLIS is a Biomedical Research and Data Specialist in the Shiffman Medical Library at Wayne State University, where she supports complex literature searches, systematic reviews, preparing manuscripts for journal submission, choosing journals for submission, research data management and sharing, creating online researcher profiles, and assessing research impact. She is also the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the Medical Library Association and a member of the New England Journal of Medicine Library Advisory Board.
