Dr. Misra completed his Internal Medicine/Pediatrics training at Wayne State University from 2013-2017. During his residency, he received the National Med-Peds resident Association's Howard Schubiner Award in 2016 for his work related to improving transitions of care in patients with special healthcare needs, as well their Med-Peds Department's "Resident of the Year" award and the Children's Hospital of Michigan's Sanford Cohen award. He was one of the pediatric chief residents at CHM from 2017-2018 and is currently one of the pediatric cardiology fellows at CHM.

Dr. Misra’s clinical interests include adult congenital cardiology, community/global health, and transitional medicine. As a resident, she worked with his Medicine-Pediatrics attendings to create a Medicine-Pediatrics consultation service that is used by pediatricians and internists alike to improve the care of hospitalized patients that have special healthcare needs. Additionally, he helped create a Transitional Medicine rotation and a Med-Peds Community Health rotation for residents and co-founded their resident-run pediatric advocacy group, which has led to increased resident involvement in community service and quality improvement projects related to community health.
